iNum is a bridge between VOIP (Voice Over IP) and traditional land line telephones. It exists as an international number and is callable from a growing number of telephone service providers. However it isn’t 100% accessible and some providers charge for the call where other does not. To fill in the gaps the people at iNum have created a set of “local” access numbers in 45 countries. To reach an iNum simply call one of the access numbers wait for the prompt and dial the iNum number. SIP Broker provides a similar and compatible service this adds additional access numbers. Lastly call one of the Bezecom access numbers dial extension 538802 to access the sipbroker gateway and then dial the iNum user you wish to contact. While dialing a bunch of numbers into your phone may be annoying it has the advantage of being the cost of a local call to someone possibly around the world or just around the corner.
If someone in eastern Washington had wanted to contact me they could dial
1-509-931-0297 X 883510001190382 or
1-509-570-0612 X 538802 X 883510001190382
And the call would be considered a local call.
