Google voice when the cell network dies

Google voice to the rescue after a 5.9 Earthquake 84 miles SW of DC the cell network got saturated and my cell phone couldn’t make a call. I was ably to make several calls from my Google voice account using Google talk with no problem yet another reason why VOIP rules.
